Manager, Accounting

Job Summary

Manages the operational and personnel activities of the Accounting and Finance department, establishing policies, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensures timely financial reporting and closing while abiding by all governmental regulations. Leads all audits, both external and internal for applicable areas. Responsible for internal controls, financial systems and integrity of all financial data. Leads for cash management and accounts receivables accounting.  Works towards increased internal control and regional standardization and reduced variances. Reviews and approves workpapers for associates including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other reporting schedules.  Assists associates in developing individual Goals and Objectives (G&Os), provide coaching, support and assessment of talent. Collaborates with Business Planning to ensure numerical results and forecast for company decision making. Establishes and maintains key KPIs. Kaizens and implementations of changes to current business practices to keep costs down.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required. 10 or more years of relevant experience including 8-10 years of progressive financial experience and demonstrated leadership ability.   Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers. Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible. Understanding of current accounting operational structure to support customer service. Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues. Advanced understanding of accounting principles and basic tax knowledge. Project management skills. Advanced systems knowledge (Oracle, SAP, Excel). Complete understanding of the financial close process. Understanding of local and state compliance requirements (payroll, property, sales, tax). People management. Ability to develop and maintain G&Os.

Salary $130,000-$155,000.
