Manager, Accounts Payable

SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for providing technical guidance and team leadership to the SmartSource Accounts Payable Team. He or she will produce accurate and timely accounts payable services for clients and is further responsible for maintaining comprehensive records and documentation for client audit purposes.

The Accounts Payable Manager is accountable for delivering client accounts payable processing and reporting through internal operational effectiveness of the accounting and internal controls functions, that will support and produce positive customer experiences for our external client base. He/she is also accountable for producing creative ideas about how to improve financial performance through innovation and effective measurements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

Provide timely and accurate financial transactions and a basic analysis of that information to clients. Provide leadership for all client accounts payable functions including invoice processing, workflow management, payment processing, and accounting systems. This includes providing daily operational/technical guidance to the accounts payable team and responsibility in recruiting and developing technically competent, professionally ethical, performance focused individuals. Provide leadership for the development and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure adequacy of internal controls, safekeeping of assets, efficient operations, and compliance with GAAP accounting rules, as appropriate. Continually assess and manage the capabilities and performance of the accounts payable staff under his or her management and recommend organizational improvements to enhance their capabilities. Build a strong team of associates consistent with SSA’s commitment to provide an effective working environment where customer service is a priority. Guide, support and mentor staff, developing continuous growth opportunities and succession plans. Recommend employment related decisions that affect personnel such as hiring, compensation, disciplinary action, and terminations. Assists in development of long-term strategies for growth and maintenance of department resources. Drive and initiate technology focused solutions to enable people and system scalability. Develop & maintain supportive working relationships with other management and support team leaders. Provide technical expertise and training to other departments in support of product development. Align all work and resource management with SSA’s mission, values, goals and strategic objectives. Exemplify, foster and lead the organization through SSA’s policies and corporate values.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong computer skills – MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook Strong verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented. Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments at one time. Dependable Team Player Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be a strong leader and professional manager with a proven track record of creating and managing the accounts payable functions of a large staff. Ability to maintain appropriate compliance and controls. Strong problem-solving skills, utilizing technical expertise and good business judgment in support of operational and strategic objectives. A mature sense of self and the ability to manage in a high growth, rapidly changing corporate environment. Ability to recruit, assess and develop personnel. Strong “hands-on” performance management abilities. Must have solid computer skills with regards to accounting software and presentations. Demonstrated skills in the management, training, and motivation of people at a variety of organizational levels and an appreciation for Associates who are considered “partners” in the company’s business. A high-energy, results-oriented, self-starting, strategically thinking leader who can demonstrate the managerial skills necessary to rise higher in this organization. An individual who can attract quality people to the organization and develop these individuals into a cohesive team. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field from an accredited college or university is highly desirable A minimum of 5 years of accounts payable or accounting experience is required.  Leadership experience is highly desirable Prior experience in customer service management is highly desirable Must be amenable to work fixed PH Night Work onsite
