The Village Senior Living Community is seeking an Activities Manager to inspire, engage, and enhance the daily experiences of our residents.About the RoleAs the Activities Manager, you’ll develop and lead programs that nurture the cognitive, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our residents. You’ll work closely with staff and volunteers to design engaging activities that promote wellness, connection, and joy.Key Responsibilities:Design, plan, and implement meaningful activities, events, and interventions for residents on both group and one-on-one levels.Develop programs that include music therapy, memory care activities, wellness workshops, and spiritual enrichment.Manage activity staff schedules and coordinate volunteer staffing.Administer the monthly activity calendar and ensure it aligns with resident preferences and state requirements.Conduct activity assessments, participate in care planning, and complete necessary documentation such as Minimum Data Set (MDS) questions.Organize recreational activities such as nature walks, fishing, pet therapy, and crafts to foster resident engagement.Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring a supportive and collaborative environment.Actively communicate department activities and updates to staff and leadership.Qualifications:Experience: Background in music, education, therapy, or senior care. Oversees the day to day activities of staff and volunteers of the department. Implementing individualized activity plan, promote group activities, which maintain or enrich the resident's. Assists in maintaining a safe home like environment for the residents. Improving quality of life by providing appropriate and meaningful activities and interventions on a one on one and group basis. These interventions will enable residents to function at their optimal level while maintain the Residents dignity and identity.
Qualifications
A degree in occupational therapy, recreational therapy, and/or completion of a state approved Activity Coordinator training program.Professional manner and appearance are required, along with good communication, social, and organizational skills.
Licensed Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Certification in Activities desired. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) within four months of hire. Depending on location, this role classifies as a Sanford Category I or II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license. Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy.
