About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Actuarial Manager to join our organization. As the Actuarial Manager, you will lead a team of actuaries and oversee the development and implementation of actuarial models, analysis, and strategies. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing accurate financial forecasts, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional leadership abilities, and in-depth knowledge of actuarial principles and practices.Roles and Responsibilities:
Actuarial Modeling and Analysis:
Oversee the development and maintenance of actuarial models and tools.
Analyze and interpret complex data to assess risks, determine reserves, and evaluate financial outcomes.
Conduct scenario analyses, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis to evaluate potential impacts on the organization.
Product pricing
Prepare and run the actuarial pricing model for new and repriced products, generating profitability results and producing financial analysis
Supervise and review the work of junior staff e.g. pricing work and regulatory filing
Prepare and review profit analysis/monitoring reports and identify innovative approaches to improve product profitability
Financial Forecasting and Reporting:
Lead the preparation of actuarial reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial forecasts and reporting.
Monitor and analyze industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks that may impact the organization.
Provide insights and recommendations on product pricing, reserving, and risk management.
Collaborate with senior management to define long-term financial goals and risk tolerance.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Assess and manage risks associated with insurance products, investments, and business operations.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and actuarial standards.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address regulatory inquiries and audits.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
Partner with cross-functional teams, such as underwriting, marketing, and product development, to support business initiatives.
Engage with senior management and present actuarial findings, recommendations, and insights.
Foster strong relationships with external partners, including reinsurers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Extensive experience in the actuarial field, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of actuarial principles, insurance products, and industry regulations.
Proficiency in actuarial software and advanced Excel modeling.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality of work.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
