Scope of Responsibilities:
Monitor experience for Healthfirst's Medicaid lines of business.Analyze and interpret impacts of premium rate changes and other regulatory changes, including support of premium rate advocacy efforts.Perform analysis of changing populations, benefits, and other trends underlying the financial performance of the Medicaid lines of business.Research, evaluate, and analyze the Medicaid market landscape to support strategic planning for the business.Provide input and assistance to other actuarial functions such as in reserving, forecasting, trend and other ad-hoc analyses supporting the Medicaid lines of business.Analyze product and segment performance, incorporating both historical observation and insight into prospective trends. Develop business plans containing forecasts of future financial performance.Participate in monthly close meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Annual Budget with Product team, and prepare and facilitate product performance discussion materials and ad-hoc analysis on the Medicaid lines of business.Manage and direct staff as appropriate.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics, Finance or any related degreeExperience in the actuarial field related to MedicaidExperience with programming/coding, preferably SAS, SQL, or PythonAbility to collect, analyze and summarize qualitative/quantitative dataPreferred Qualifications:
ASA (Associate, Society of Actuaries) membershipMAAA (Member, American Academy of Actuaries) membershipPrior work experience managing one or more staffHiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $100,900 - $145,775
All Other Locations (within approved locations): $86,500 - $128,690
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
