Purpose of the role

The Technology Manager’s primary responsibility is to partner with their business areas and provide technology solutions and services that help deliver CarMax’s strategic mission and plans. This Manager will lead a team of talented engineers enabling CarMax's technology journey. You will be results-oriented, data-driven, and have a proven record of accomplishment influencing outcomes without direct decision-making authority. The Manager will be comfortable guiding teams and setting performance standards and motivating associates to perform quality work.  The Manager, in partnership with their leader, is responsible for identifying high performing talent, gaps in talent, and developing associates to close the gaps. 

Qualifications and Requirements

 Education and Experience - BS/BA degree required with preference for a Technology related field of study (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)5+ years of experience in Information Technology with 5+ years of application systems development and implementation3+ years’ experience managing direct reports3+ years of experience required leading software projects leveraging Agile practicesExperience with Digital Marketing PlatformsExperience with various marketing campaign approaches and KPI Experience with marketing cloud reportingExperience with managing dynamic content with marketing cloud Experience with API integration and data feed with marketing cloudExperience working on different integration patterns with Enterprise Systems (Customer Data, etc)Understand Salesforce marketing cloud architecture and best practices (nice to have)

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the Richmond, VA CarMax Technology Innovation Center or the Dallas, TX Technology Hub and have a Hybrid work arrangement.

Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
