What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
As the Manager, Associate Experience (Onboarding), you will be responsible for designing and leading an immersive onboarding experience that enables every new associate to thrive and grow meaningful careers at CarMax. You will have the opportunity to:
Take full ownership of the onboarding experience and maintain strategic focus to ensure the onboarding programs align with the organization’s goals and objectives.Serve as a subject matter expert and demonstrate strong leadership by developing and implementing innovative onboarding programs tailored to meet the needs of diverse associate populations, including retail, hybrid, and remote associates.Manage partnerships across CarMax to maintain effective information flow, consultation on key decisions, and championing company and team goals related to onboardingLead and collaborate with the HR Centers of Excellence (i.e. Benefits, Talent, HR Services, HR Systems, etc.) to drive the evaluation and enhancement of onboarding processes and materials leveraging feedback, industry best practices and emerging trends to consistently improve the onboarding experience.Proactively analyze and track onboarding metrics to assess the effectiveness of our programs, using data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancements.Conduct associate and leader listening tours including interviews, focus groups, etc. with the goal of enhancing onboarding and engagement strategies.Other projects/duties assignedThis position will report to the Director of Associate ExperiencePurpose of the role
As the Manager, Associate Experience (Onboarding), your purpose is to support the execution and evaluate the effectiveness of programs that enhance the associate experience during their onboarding journey. In this role, you will balance the coordination of programs with strong independent analysis and decision-making skills. Your ability to assimilate information from various sources of data and insights will be crucial in making strategic recommendations that drive the success and impact of our onboarding initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements
Required 5+ years of progressive human resources experience with a preference for program design, project management, and/or consultingRequired bachelors degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field.Required demonstrated expertise in developing and managing an effective hybrid and remote onboarding programRequired experience working in HR settings across multiple industries, with an emphasis of supporting retail, hourly/field employeesKnowledge of Workday and other commonly used onboarding software, preferred.Detail-oriented and organized with project management skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and think thoroughly in the face of problems.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
