Position: Manager, Billing

Job Description:

The Manager, Billing is responsible for managing all accounts receivable in customer accounts and credit and collections personnel. This person will work under the direction of the Director of Revenue and Receivable Accounting and will supervise all staff members to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

Establish policies and procedures with input from the Director of Revenue and Receivable Accounting and the Controller and ensure compliance by the appropriate staff Mentor and manage direct reports. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, coordinating/assigning tasks, performing annual evaluations, etc. Ensure accurate and timely billing Analyze new customers’ needs and implement processes as needed Set up new customers and communicate new processes to the field and billing staff as needed Analyze and update monthly accounting reports as needed, unbilled reports and revenue reports Monitor weekly billing progress Collaborate with the Collections manager to address problem accounts to address Billing issues Work closely with the IT department to develop new systems and processes Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor's degree and 2-5 years’ experience in the field of business, finance or similar Possess leadership and supervisory skills/potential  Have strong computer skills, ability to adapt to multiple systems Possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills Be a self-motivated problem solver Rate and contract experience preferred Accounting background preferred Computer comprehension, including knowledge of Excel, Word, and e-mail functions Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing  Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, officers, vendors, and the public) Transportation experience preferred but not required

Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with AS400 operating systems and Oracle Financial Systems is a plus Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
