Manager, Business Development

Expedia Group is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Manager for the Strategic Partnerships & Affiliates’ (SPA) Business Development team. As a Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing business opportunities within strategic organizations, playing a key role in developing relationships and securing partnerships that drive revenue. You will work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to lead the negotiation and execution of complex deals. This position requires strong collaboration, a solid understanding of the sales cycle, and the ability to engage with key decision-makers to deliver mutually beneficial partnerships.


SPA is a flourishing business with bold growth ambitions, within the Expedia Group consumer business. We are uniquely positioned at the intersection of B2B and B2C marketing, with a growing portfolio of products that support thousands of partners, brands, and individuals, to become successful in selling travel. Our team’s purpose is ‘to profitably extend the reach of Expedia Group’s brands and engage with travelers where they choose to discover and book travel, by enabling businesses and people to monetize their audiences through branded travel products’.

In this role, you will:

Report to the Director of Business Development and support the full sales process for high-value strategic partnership opportunities, including partner identification, outreach, negotiation, and contracting

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders within target organizations, understanding their unique business needs and creating tailored solutions that align with both partner objectives and Expedia Group’s offerings

Lead in the negotiation and contracting process, collaborating with internal teams (Finance, Legal, Marketing, etc.) to ensure successful partnership execution

Monitor travel industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities to inform growth strategies and identify potential business areas

Work closely with internal teams to influence business strategies, ensuring alignment and collaboration for partnership success

Support the development of the business development pipeline, including identifying and qualifying new opportunities, structuring deals, and evaluating potential partners

Experience and qualifications:

A relationship-driven professional with a commercial mindset, focused on developing strategic partnerships and driving business growth

Able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate across teams

Data-driven, with the ability to analyze market trends and partner needs and use this information to craft compelling business cases for new partnerships

Detail-oriented, with the ability to dive into the technical aspects of deals and translate complex requirements into actionable business solutions

Comfortable in fast-paced, matrixed environments, with a proactive approach to managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines

Strong communicator, with experience presenting ideas and negotiating deals with both internal and external stakeholders

5-7 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or a similar role, preferably in a travel, tech, or B2B-focused organization

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,000.00 to $191,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $219,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
