The Manager, Client Services, Government Grants works directly with clients and prospects and to assess their strategic challenges and growth opportunities. Their main responsibility will be reaching out to new and existing clients to explore government funding program opportunities, specifically quick win opportunities such as hiring, training, expansion and small to medium sized capital programs. This role is a balance of new client acquisition and re-engagement of existing clients and will assist the Client Services team with pipeline management by identifying funding opportunities and closing select programs.

Core responsibilities for this role include:
Client Re-engagement – 35%
Connecting with existing clients either owned by your own territory or working with Director, Clients services to identify future funding opportunities. Leverage a mix of reports, email campaigns, phone calls, and personalized communications to engage with clients and uncover possible funding for their strategic initiatives, working collaboratively with pre-selected sales teammate(s).

Funding Opportunity Identification – 25%
The Manager, Client Services, Government Grants will educate small businesses on a selection of grant opportunities and fully qualify the businesses. This includes informing clients of funding eligibility and requirements, as well as collecting relevant information required to fully qualify them for funding and transition to the engagement team to write the applications.

Prospecting New Clients and Lead Generation – 20%
The Manager, Client Services, Government Grants is responsible for new prospects and lead development of clients, focusing on mainly government funding opportunities and identifying opportunities to cross sell other Ryan services where possible. As the team member’s territory develops, there will be a natural shift away from lead generation and focus on re-engaging existing clients to maximize their lifetime funding value.

Collaboration with Ryan Client Services Team – 20%
Responsible for collaborating with other Ryan client services team members to support the identification of new government funding opportunities, such has hiring, training, marketing/export and other small to medium sized funding programs. This includes preliminary information education and enablement to both internal stakeholders, clients and prospects, interviews, completing the mandatory scope components, and assisting with follow-up activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Re-engage existing clients through multiple communication methods to ensure they are aware of funding opportunities for their upcoming projects.

• Utilize multiple communication methods, including emails, campaigns, time-delayed message sequences, phone calls, and business events to engage with businesses.

• Ensure the client’s demographic information and communication history is properly stored and maintained within Mentor Works’ business systems.

• Maintain knowledge of a selection of funding programs including key criteria and details required to effectively pair programs with various initiatives; all research is compiled internally into several available learning tools.

• Support the sales and go-to-market strategies and collaborate and communicate with the Business Development and Service Delivery teams to identify new opportunities to engage and convert their clients. • Qualify clients and projects and completing the info gathering process to ensure clients are eligible for funding programs.

• Transition sales qualified leads (SQL) to our Directors for further qualification of large and complex government funding programs.

• Attend in-person meetings and travel to client sites/facilities, and events and tradeshows increase our brand awareness and support lead generation activities.

• Meet and collaborate with the Business Development team and Service Delivery team regularly to discuss opportunities, progress, issues, etc.

• Manage the optimal Government Funding Services for a selection of client profiles and, where possible, identify opportunities to cross sell other Ryan services, including SR&ED and other tax recovery practices.

• Gain fluidity and expertise in customizing CRM reports to complete data analytics on individual territory and gain insights from other best practices in Sales/Marketing.

• Establish processes to manage a new HubSpot Sequence every 21-28 days for outreach to enhance the effective use of marketing automation.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or Post-secondary diploma or equivalent with two to five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

 • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience and comfort with contacting clients over the phone and email

• Experience in sales, consultative selling or account/client management

• Extensive experience in customer support/service roles

• Organized and proactive

• Natural problem-solving abilities

• Ability to support the activities of the team to ensure client commitments are completed in a timely manner

• Self-motivated and ability to work in a variety of environments

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

• Experience in a SME level ERP/CRM system such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Sugar CRM, Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics, Siebel, etc.

• Familiarity with Teams, Zoom or similar team collaboration tools

• Familiarity with Dropbox or similar cloud storage systems.

• Advanced use of Office 365, Salesforce, RingCentral, and web conferencing solutions

• Basic Excel: multi-field filtering and sorting, PDF preparation

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.

• Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.

• Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm, interface with clients and external vendors as necessary.

• Independent travel requirement client sites/facilities, tradeshows and events: 40%.
