Manager, Clinic Operations - SMF Physician Services

This is an exempt, full time, benefited position on a hybrid schedule working at the 4S Ranch location on Wednesdays and as needed. You will be working normal business hours with extended hours as needed. Eligible for the Management Incentive Compensation Plan.

What you'll do:

Manage a team of 50-60 employees covering the authorization process for all of Scripps Medical Foundation.Collaborate with Scripps Health Plan Services Utilization Management team, Scripps Clinic primary care, medical specialties and surgical specialties, all of Scripps Coastal, and multiple health plans.Daily operations of the authorization department in an efficient and cost-effective manner.Contribute to strategic planning of business units.Coordinate the ongoing development and productivity of the authorization team.Provide leadership and direction to staff to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations, quality outcomes, and internal and external customer service.Responsible for entire scope of department/location, including facilities management (emergency facilities support), where appropriate.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

High school diploma plus five years current applicable experience in a healthcare environment and two years of leadership experience.Ability to effectively manage healthcare business and operational practices.Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applicable systems.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

Bachelor's degree and/or completion of formal leadership training.Lean Six Sigma exp. Epic experience.Experience in insurance authorizations.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
