Manages, plans, organizes and evaluates functions related to the laboratory support operations and administration including, but not limited to Accessioning, Laboratory Information system (LIS), Customer Service, Scheduling, Inventory, Budget tracking and/or related Training.
Job Responsibility
Provides leadership to Clinical Laboratory Support team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives. Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system. Manages, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner. Develops, implements and evaluates approved operations and procedures to achieve Department and Service Line strategic goals and objectives. Ensures efficient and reliable Accessioning operations including all pre-analytical processing, recording and tracking of specimens. Manages Site operations of and relationships with the Central Laboratory Information the health system (LIS); participates in the health system maintenance, upgrades and testing; provides training for staff and the health system end-users. Ensures internal and external customer inquiries are responded to courteously, accurately and in a timely manner. Coordinates department staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate shift and skill coverage. Reviews timesheets and maintains records; compiles and monitors operating expenses. Ensures adequate operating supplies and calibrated equipment. Maintains department administrative and compliance records. Performs related duties as required. Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.*Additional Salary Detail
