Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently searching for a Manager, Communications reporting to Head, Communications.
**Description:**
This position plays a key role in supporting the strategic development and execution of both internal and external communications for Astellas Canada. The role involves aligning with and leveraging global content as appropriate. Internal communications responsibilities encompass a range of activities, including but not limited to: organizing all-employee meetings for the Canadian affiliate, enhancing employee engagement, managing the intranet, and developing relevant content. On the external front, the role includes media relations and monitoring, corporate social responsibility initiatives, communication within therapeutic areas, and managing corporate reputation.
**Key Accountabilities:**
+ Provide strategic brand communications counsel relevant to local affiliate needs while collaborating with global and regional commercial communications teams to ensure brand consistency across therapeutic areas and engagement initiatives. .
+ Provide strategic oversight to engage internal and external stakeholders to support business needs and reputational goals through various channels, including digital communications and media relations.
+ Develop and implement internal communication activities to enhance awareness of stakeholder needs within the organization.
+ Build external awareness of Astellas Canada in accordance with corporate brand guidelines through multiple platforms, such as LinkedIn and the company website.
+ Manage relationships with public relations firms and external service providers to optimize resource utilization and maximize budget efficiency while measuring the impact of communications on engagement and business outcomes.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ University degree or equivalent in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing communications, or public relations.
+ Proven experience in brand communications.
+ Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to simplify and communicate complex business concepts.
+ Experience in cross-functional project alignment across various organizational levels.
+ Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ Ability to distill complex information into clear, understandable terms.
+ Proven ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
+ Established connections within the industry, media, and stakeholders, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector.
+ Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bilingual (English/French) an asset
**Working Environment:**
+ This position is hybrid and is based in Ontario Providence. Candidates must be willing to come into our Markham, ON office two days a week.
