Manager, Construction and Engineering
**Description** **“We Push the Boundaries of Possibilities for our Communities.”** **Overview of the Position Responsibilities** : The Manager of Construction & Engineering leads engineering and construction efforts to ensure projects are planned and executed with safety, by the deadlines, within budget, and with the quality expected by Bluepeak. Be part of our innovation- building and delivering a fiber-rich internet connection to people’s doorsteps. **What You Will Do:** + Leads a team responsible for managing the strand mapping, design, new build construction, line extensions, joint trench, cable relocation, pole maintenance, permitting, and as-built mapping. Evaluates specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction. + Director subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays. + Owns passings goal and overall market success based on completion of construction within budget and forecast. + Leads communication efforts with local, state, and federal municipality and agencies. + Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules including but not limited to QC, redlining, auditing splice records and delivering accurate documentation to operations. + Ensures timely follow-up and resolution of customer damage complaints. + Prepares/Reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules accordingly. + Conducts construction activities within federal, state, and local environmental rules and regulations. + Leads a team in accordance with the Bluepeak's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. + Occasional overnight travel is required. + All other related duties as assigned. **What You Will Need:** + Highschool diploma or GED required. + Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent experience required. + 5+ years’ experience in the telecommunication/cable industry strongly preferred. + Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. + Mastered the ability to review and interpret maps, plan sets/drawings and diagrams for fiber construction.
