Manager, Corporate Meetings & Congresses

Job Description

About This Role

Directly accountable to manage and oversee all meetings and congresses for their assigned business unit(s) internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.  This accountability includes and is not limited to understanding the business units, products and all associated environmental factors, incorporate meeting management best practices for both virtual and live meetings or congresses and to be in compliance with all Biogen corporate, financial, legal, and regulatory and travel policies and controls.  This knowledge will better support their ability to execute strategic meeting management elements to reduce overall meeting cost while improving the stakeholder (both meeting host and participant) experience.

This position is accountable to supporting their business with the design of an overall strategic meeting platform via strategic partnership and relationship management of both the business leads and meeting content owners.

What You’ll Do

Meeting Planning Management & Project ManagementAdvise on Meeting architecture, design and communicate the best way to operate meeting logistics for both virtual and in person meetings or congressesLead planning teams to project manage execution outcomesManage and control program agendas to support appropriate alignment of meeting specifics and program contentDirect oversight and management of program budgetAccountable to driving timelines and all related tasks of the project in a proactive mannerUnderstand best practices in meetings and congresses across Biogen and within the industryServe as main point for congress organizations to streamline communicationsGain alignment across functions and leadership on sponsorship levels and coordinated Biogen presence, track appropriate sponsorship benefits and timelines, and organize meetings as neededCompliance Processing for HCP EngagementsBe fully aware of Biogen compliance rules and strictly adhere to all rules that govern meeting and congress engagements with patients and HCP’s.Supplier Management Directly accountable to overseeing the supplier to plan program logistics and booth services.Responsible for communicating meeting objectives and execution plan(s).

Qualifications

Required Skills

Must have hands-on working experience, knowledge and understanding of corporate meeting and business practices that support best in class meeting planning management and execution.Minimum of 5-7 years in planning, management and executing meetings and events.Must have at least 2 years’ experience of direct management and oversight of project teamsMust be skilled in both written and verbal communications and must be able to present concepts and ideas in a public speaking formatMust be highly skilled in project, time and budget management, and be able to work in a fast pace, flexible and changing work environment.Must be skilled at building strategic work relationships at all levels (Administrative to C-level executive)Must be well organizedMust be creative and able to think out of the box to come up with new and creative ideas on a very high levelAble to travel at least 25% of time in the US

Preferred Skills

Hands on working experience in Biotech and or Pharmaceutical meeting and congress planningKnowledge, understanding and experience with pharmaceutical regulations such as (HIPPA and the Sunshine Act)

Additional Information

The base salary range for this position is $103,000 – $138,000. Base salary offered is determined though an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location,
and internal equity.  

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term

incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed
