**Responsibilities**
The Manager, Cost Accounting will be responsible for a wide range of cost accounting functions, including month-end close activities, cost analysis, and financial reporting related to manufacturing and operations. Key duties include preparing and analyzing standard costs, inventory valuation, variances, and forecasts. The role supports budgeting processes, cost control initiatives, and operational performance tracking. It also involves maintaining accurate data within ERP systems, assisting with audits, and supporting internal controls and process improvements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including operations and R&D, is essential for effective cost management and decision support.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, inventory reconciliations & reserves, volume reporting, variance analysis, absorption analysis, and purchase price variance (PPV) analysis
+ Prepare actual vs. budget analysis related to scrap, inventory, operational variances, and expense information
+ Prepare Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and forecasts for operations
+ Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs
+ Analyze actual production costs and prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
+ Establish and maintain standard costs in the ERP system
+ Support operations on R&D cost collection and allocation, cost savings projects, cost management, and overall performance of operations
+ Prepare estimates of new and proposed product or service costs
+ Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs, operational reporting, and inventory valuation.
+ Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production, and work order processing
+ Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
+ Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
+ Perform ad hoc reporting and projects as required
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
+ 7+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Strong ERP experience (SAP, Netsuite, JDE)
+ Experience maintaining and improving processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs, operational reporting, and inventory valuation.
+ Experience analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs
+ Sharp business acumen with excellent communication skills
+ Analytical and organized with an attention to detail
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Able to meet deadlines within a high volume fast-paced environment
