Ameren Illinois provides electric transmission and distribution service and natural gas distribution service. About The Position
The Manager Efficient Electrification and Product Development is responsible for the research, development, evaluation and continuous improvement of Ameren Illinois' customer-facing beneficial electrification strategies and programs including but not limited to electric vehicles (EV) and EV charging strategies for on-road transportation, off-road transportation, building HVAC, water heating, and cooking, and other industrial processes. The Manager is also responsible for researching, evaluating, and developing new products and services that Ameren Illinois could provide to customers to support customer satisfaction and customer affordability, and as needed support natural gas development initiatives.
**Other Ameren Illinois offices may be considered based upon mutual agreement between hiring leader and successful candidate; Collinsville is the preferred location.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the research and development of electrification strategies and programs for Ameren Illinois.Develop and execute program implementation strategies that motivate customers to implement electrification programs.Lead and support strategies to promote beneficial electrification including policy and regulatory change.Lead the development and implementation of Beneficial Electrification programs approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission.Develop and support the Beneficial Electrification Plan required regulatory filings, including sponsoring testimony and responding to data requests.Lead processes to understand customer needs and translate those into products and services Ameren can deliver.Establish and maintain an Ameren Illinois accepted process for product and services developmentDetermine customer needs and total potential market for such product and serviceOversee the coordination of internal and external resources (contractors, trade allies and dealerships) committed to successful program execution. Maintain an appropriate positive and mutually beneficial business relationship with business and professional groups and industry allies in support of Ameren Illinois' objectives. Lead the continuous improvement of the programs and the corresponding contribution to Ameren Illinois' electrification, products and services, and customer affordability goals.Lead the program education and outreach needs. Ensure that all messaging is accurate, impactful and consistent with Ameren Illinois’ strategy and objectives.Develop and track program performance metrics. Prepare status reports to accurately monitor progress against program objectives, timelines, budgets and goals.Stay abreast of related ongoing research and trends.Jointly work with the Ameren Illinois gas development group to develop programs and positions that include both electric and natural gas solutions for customers, based on benefits to customers and affordability impacts.Proactively collaborate with other Ameren Illinois work groups, including Rates & Regulatory, Energy Efficiency, Customer Satisfaction, Economic Development, Communication & Public Relations, Customer Engagement, and Operations to develop and implement efficient electrification programs and new products and services.Coordinate efforts and find synergies with Ameren Missouri and Ameren Corporate electrification and products and services initiatives.Provide leadership and training to direct reports.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required. Engineering, Business or Marketing background is preferred. Master’s degree in Business is preferred. Eight or more years of professional level business, sales, marketing, customer service, or engineering / technical experience required. Five or more years of supervisory or project management experience required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Proven ability to lead others and excellent business acumen; Experience and knowledge of relevant energy programs and the utility industry; Ability to communicate effectively through public speaking and written documents; Strong decision-making, problem solving, analytical, and computational skills; Expert ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical time deadlines; Expert ability to prioritize and complete a wide variety of requests and assignments; Ability to build relationships and interact with internal resources and external customers; Ability to manage projects from beginning to end; Expert knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Word.
