Position Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for implementing our global strategy for hazard communication across the Life Sciences and Laboratory Products Groups. They will manage a team of professionals responsible for product hazard assessment and safety data sheet creation and will provide guidance and support to develop the team as well as coordinating projects requiring in-depth understanding of chemical & life science regulations and cross-divisional scope.
Job Responsibilities:
Manages the authoring of safety data sheets for new and existing chemical productsCoordinates the hazard classification of chemical products in accordance with the global implementation of GHSOversees the transport hazard classification of chemical products in accordance with IATA/ICAO, IMDG, ADR, CFR Title 49, TDGServes as expert business liaison across the organisationLeadership, management, motivation and coaching of team membersProvides regulatory support to internal and external customers including proactive engagement with the R&D teamsInterprets and applies information on local, regional, and global regulatory intelligence and other related information.Manages and delivers on all key projects supporting key strategic imperativesDrives continuous improvement within the teams activitiesRequired Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Law or related subjectExperience:
Minimum 5 years hazard communication management experience within the life sciences and chemical sectors Experience authoring SDS to globally recognised standardsFamiliarity with SDS authoring software e.g. WERCS and ERP systemsTransport hazard classification of chemical products in accordance with IATA/ICAO, IMDG, ADR, CFR Title 49, TDGPeople management experienceKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to read, interpret and operationalise chemical regulationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and effectively in person, over the phone, on remote meetings and in writingAble to connect with all levels within the organizationStrong interpersonal skills including the ability to remain calm, professional and positiveAbility to lead, guide and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment Highly motivated, possessing strong organisational skills and able to prioritise multiple activities concurrentlyBe a proactive and effective communicatorProject management expertiseFluent in English
