Manager, Employee Relations

The Manager, Labor & Employee Relations, is a key contributor to our large scale bargaining initiatives. This position is deeply rooted in labor relations within a unionized manufacturing environment. The role supports national and local collective bargaining agreement (CBA) processes, and collaborates cross-functionally with key stakeholders across the organization. This role may also manage 1–2 direct reports and support labor process standardization, and implementation.

You'll have…

Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Labor Relations, Human Resources, or related field (or commensurate experience) 6-10 years of labor relations experience in a manufacturing environment.Plant labor and/or management level labor relations experience is requiredDirect experience supporting national or regional collective bargaining negotiations and leading or participating in subcommittees.Functional proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications and SharePoint.Problem solving / conflict management skills. Project management skills. Excellent written and oral communication including presentation skills.Experience managing people and/or leading cross-functional teams. and ability to build consensus with stakeholders.Proven ability to work in a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment with union stakeholders at multiple levels.Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements, labor contract language, and grievance processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.Strong skills in data analysis, presentation development, and stakeholder communication.

Master’s degree in Industrial/Labor Relations or related field.Experience interacting with the UAW (or similar large unions). Negotiations experienceExperience standardizing labor processes across multiple sites or business units.

What you'll do…

Conduct external benchmarking on a variety of labor market and process items, create summaries, and present results.Lead objectives and deliverables for continuous improvement projects using LEAN tools to help deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify preventive measures to keep processes working as designed. Lead/facilitate executive-level meetings.Develop and deliver ongoing labor process training to plant teams.Develop executive-level meeting materials/ presentations using MS Powerpoint.Lead/facilitate training workshops, including development of strategic communications.Develop and implement strategic communication plans.Support  negotiations subcommittee on a specified topic including: conducting benchmarking, data analysis, strategy presentations, and may serve as lead negotiator.Support negotiations language control process.Manage logistical and operational support for National Negotiations (facilities, budget, services).Ad hoc research and other assignments as required.Collaborate cross-functionally.
