Responsible for all Household Disposer sustaining engineering activities including Engineering change services, cost reductions, product quality improvements, and production support. Manages and supervises the efforts of Product Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Designers in support of product design, development, evaluation and documentation. Manages technical systems used in Product Engineering to optimize overall team efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include Manages team members with engineering and software/digital system expertise in support of departmental and company objectives. Lead, direct, mentor, and develop direct reports to promote continuous improvement.Manage planning, scheduling and coordination of assigned engineering projects.Help establish and adhere to engineering expenses and capital budgets.Support and represent the Product Engineering function to all other departments as requested or directed. Includes but not limited to Supplier qualification and improvement and in-house manufacturing support.Develop and track departmental objectives for quality, process, and design improvements.Develop, maintain, and champion the division’s material cost reduction efforts.Effectively communicate procedures, results, conclusions, and project status through written and verbal methods. Implement and optimize procedures and processes, recommend and make changes where appropriate to increase efficiency utilizing software/digital tools and best practices. Examples: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, Engineering Change process, Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems and data management.Review and approve Engineering Change Notices where appropriate.Manage and oversee the Engineering Service department and processes.Minimum requirements B.S. Degree with a major in an appropriate engineering discipline and a minimum of 10 years’ related experienceMinor in Computer Science, or 5 years’ experience in Information Technology related field.Preferred skills and experiences Masters’ Degree in an applicable discipline and 6 years’ related experienceBroad working knowledge of the appliance or related industriesAdditional information
