Manager, Enterprise Applications
POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, IT Enterprise Applications leads a team of developers who work remotely. This team is charged with providing support to all the business applications in the enterprise including, as needed, selection, design, development, integration, enhancement, maintenance, etc. The person fulfilling this role should possess extensive knowledge of design and development best practices, project and task management, be focused on customer service, and have the skills necessary to lead teams and individuals to achieve their full potential. Location preference is Springfield or Medford, OR, on site. Remote work may be considered. MAJOR TASKS: Define, document and enforce development standards following industry standards to ensure system performance and maintainability. Conduct code reviews as needed of internally and externally developed code and coach team members on development best practices. Assist in the setup and maintenance of application environments, ensuring proper control, efficiency and accuracy of environment management and code migration. Maximize system performance and uptime, supporting Timber Product’ ability to operate efficiently and provide excellent customer service. Other areas of system and application-related areas that this individual will be responsible for and/or involved in include: • System and database configuration and design • Compliance and optimization of software and hardware licenses and subscriptions • Cybersecurity and access control, supporting the company’s security initiatives and goals • Software and hardware currency and maintainability • Business continuity and disaster recovery planning and preparedness For each area, the individual should have a comprehensive knowledge of best practices and ensure our systems and practices follow those standards. Manage effective relationships with all third-party solution providers. Facilitate successful integrations and stable and accurate services. Participate in the Enterprise-wide IT Steering Committee, assisting in the evaluation, estimating and prioritization of IT projects under consideration by committee members; working within a model of continuous improvement. Stay current on emerging technologies and opportunities and recommend appropriate projects or activities that will support Timber Products’ vision and growth. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business operations within the company, including core supply chain operations as well as supporting functions such as Accounting, HR/Payroll, Marketing, Compliance, and Safety. Coach subordinates and help them to grow in their specific roles and function as a high-performing team. Establish guidelines necessary for each role so that job performance expectations are clear to each subordinate. Provide annual performance reviews for those individuals supervised. Establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of employees in the organization. Establish and manage to a high standard of customer service to internal customers for the services provided. Maintain effective relationships with all project partners, internal and external. Facilitate/participate in project management activities as needed; may involve coordinating with and assisting project managers, leading small projects, and coaching and mentoring team members on project management best practices. Participates, as needed, and/or manages team members in full life cycle of all IT projects from concept to closure. Actively participate in the formation and ongoing maintenance of the IT capital and expense budgets in collaboration with fellow IT leaders. SKILL REQUIREMENTS: • 2+ years’ experience in managing teams, preferably in an Information Technology capacity. • 5+ years’ experience managing or participating in information technology projects. • Bachelor of Science degree in Business, IT, or related field preferred. • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and a working knowledge of the Microsoft development toolset Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management in person or remotely. • Effectively facilitate meetings of all types such as business requirements sessions, problem resolution discussions, decision meetings, and routine team meetings. • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain several concurrent projects while providing realistic delivery dates and managing customer expectations.
