Manager, Enterprise Network

The Enterprise Network Manager oversees WAN/LAN connectivity, maintains ABS data centers, manages the network budget, monitors performance, tracks usage, and plans upgrades for optimal function. Expertise required in managing Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, load balancers, VoIP technologies, and Azure cloud networking. Extensive experience and judgment are needed to achieve team and strategic IMS goals.

What You Will Do:

Meets and confers with various levels of ABS Management and users to ensure that network improvements and expansion projects are identified, prioritized, staffed and scheduled to meet business needs and objectives. Leads and manages a team of network/firewall engineers and technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Assign tasks and projects to team members, ensuring timely and efficient completion. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing. Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan for upcoming projects. Manage and maintain WAN and LAN connectivity to ensure seamless network operations. Oversee Azure cloud networking to ensure secure and efficient cloud connectivity. Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members. Responsible for preparing, obtaining management approval, and stewarding results of detailed plans and operating budgets associated with both projects and on-going operations. Responsible for evaluations and contract negotiations for network hardware, software, circuits and services related to ABS global network and data centers. Prepares and delivers both high-level and detailed presentations to ABS Management and user groups. Participates in the development, ongoing testing, and stewardship of Disaster Recovery Plan. Oversee network upgrades based on projected growth of system utilization. Work with IMS Security to ensure Network processes and configurations adhere to Security policies.  Research and propose new technology, techniques, and strategies for improving service delivery. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Perform various other duties that from time to time will be assigned by the Director of IMS Operations or CIO.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

Typically requires bachelor’s degree in the area of Information Technology or equivalent experience Typically requires 5-10 years of previous work-related experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong customer service mindset. Expertise in Cisco switches and routers, Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs), and Palo Alto firewalls is required. Familiarity with Azure cloud networking, commercial and government.  Understanding of Network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, OpManager) and Network configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, NetBrain). Expert knowledge of VPN technologies and WAN solutions. Ability to create, maintain, and review technical diagrams and designs.  Knowledge of NIST 800-171/CMMC framework. Ability to plan and implement network upgrades to achieve optimal performance and scalability. Develop processes and procedures that comply with Security standards. Working knowledge of the ABS Health Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships: 

Reports directly to IMS Operations Management and may have Individual Contributor direct reports.
