As the Manager, Environment & Quality Systems, you will be responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of Canfor Pulp. You’ll also be a key driver in developing and implementing environmental strategies and action plans to promote sustainable development.

 

The life of the Manager, Environment & Quality Systems includes:

Ensure that environmental matters are managed with integrity and communicated appropriately Work with mill and Ministry of Environment staff to establish mutually acceptable environmental permits Managing and coordinating resolutions for high-risk environmental issues as they arise Communicating with and advising operations to ensure that resources are in place to prevent upsets and to maintain full compliance with regulatory and CPL policy commitments Ensure that CPL maintains a positive working relationship with the community, government and other stakeholders Maintain awareness of current and pending legislation and participate in regulatory and policy development initiatives Management of the ISO system and coordination with the appropriate stakeholders on matters relating to the ISO program Assist in the development of annual budgets and business plans for the three mills Supervise environmental and ISO staff members located at the three pulp mills Regulatory subject matter expert providing mentorship to Specialists, Technical Managers, and Operational Leadership 

 

For this role, you’ll come equipped with:

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or Biology. You will have a minimum of ten years experience in the environmental field and direct involvement in environmental issues or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Pulp mill experience is preferred as is the ability to interpret legislation. You will be computer proficient including experience with data management. Your strong analytical and problem solving abilities with the flexibility to effectively respond to continually changing internal and external business conditions will also assist you in this challenging position. Strong communication skills and ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders will be a strong asset.

 

The salary range for this position is: $121,000.00-$151,000.00
