We are hiring a Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety to join our Operations & Quality team!

Can you influence people, facilitate projects, and implement programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees at our Vista facility? As Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety, you will deploy EHS strategies that will enable success, promote continuous improvement, and keep us compliant with local, state, and federal safety guidelines. We’ll rely on you to build and maintain positive working relationships within and outside the organization, including with our parent company and at the divisional, agency, plant management, supervisor, and hourly employee levels.

YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT

Can you drive EHS best practices? You will develop and administer EHS management programs to maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and multi-media environmental regulations and permitting, to include air, water, waste, hazardous materials, energy, resource conservation, recycling, and more. This role goes beyond regulatory compliance; you will work closely with EHS and site leaders to level up our EHS capabilities and build partnerships across the organization.Can you deliver data excellence? You will capture, track, monitor and manage EHS data effectively and prepare agency reports as required, ensuring timely submission of both internal and external reports. We are looking for a candidate who can both manage the big picture and know when to dive into the details.Are you an effective communicator? We’ll look to you to drive an engaged EHS culture by providing direction for leadership and the rest of the workforce in areas such as training, root cause analysis, standard process implementation, and continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in driving a pro-active safety culture by engaging with employees to take ownership of our EHS programs.Are you organized and detailed? You will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating audits and inspections as well as the associated data management, recordkeeping, and communications to ensure compliance with facility and EHS regulatory requirements. Further, you’ll assist management with investigations, provide corrective and/or preventive measure recommendations, and maintain accurate environmental and injury/illness records.Are you an EHS compliance expert? You will be expected to maintain working knowledge of current EHS regulations and laws so that you can provide expertise for EHS assessments, projects, and general EHS-related problem-solving.

Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish required, including ability to write and speak effectively in both languages. Bachelor's degree in environmental science/engineering, occupational/industrial safety and health or related field required. Other four-year degree will be considered with relevant experience. 5 years’ related work experience leading/managing EHS programs is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.Experience working with regulatory agencies including OSHA, EPA, DEH, APCD, Water Board, EIA, etc. preferred.Certification in an EHS-related field such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc. is a plus.Prior experience leading/managing others a plus.Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact, present to, and influence a group of co-workers, supervisors, managers, or higher-level executives.Ability to work well both independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment.Ability to read, interpret, and apply documents such as regulatory standards and guidelines, safety rules, owner’s operating manuals, service procedure manuals, etc.Exhibits our Watkins Way values and understands the culture of our organization.Proficient in MS Office Suite.ERP system experience a plus.

Hiring Range: $135,900 - $149,490.
