Manager, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

The Opportunity

You will be directly responsible for site specific Fulfillment Center Environmental, Health and Safety. You will report to the Senior Manager of EHS and work onsite (Suffolk, VA) Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.

You will lead the EHS Group while partnering with the site General Manager to hold site leadership accountable for workplace safety. You will support the employee safety engagement expectations for the site with a focus on safety improvement. Lead site efforts to support the EHS Vision focused on world class workplace safety.

Your Impact

Review metrics, reviews FC incidents and incident investigations, provide feedback and assist site leaders with mitigation strategies to reduce hazards and lower risks.

Stay connected to the site leadership team regarding weekly safety metrics. Engage all site team members on a routine basis to identify the pulse of safety engagement at the site. Provide positive feedback and opportunities to the site leaders and help identify methods for recognition and improvements.

Site Compliance and BPM program: audits site EHS program for completion of regulatory compliance, training, reporting, and metric completion. Identify areas of increased effectiveness and set the direction to address any opportunities.

Supervisor of staff: meets with the site EHS Specialist on a routine basis. Provide, guidance, direction and mentoring to ensure the site EHS Specialist develops as a Leader of Self. Complete routine 1:1 meetings to ensure critical safety tasks are completed and within discussed upon time frames.

Focus on developing personal leadership Brand and developing as a Leader of Others. Identify internal and external opportunities for growth. Work with manager to assist with EHS program development.

What You Bring

Minimum B.S. in occupational safety, environmental & health or related field.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in EHS program management with emphasis on program development, reducing injuries and fostering safety culture.

Basic experience with LEAN principles, process improvement and change management.

Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and company culture.

Develop and implement programs based on strategies and goals.

Travel overnight occasionally.

Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (Excel-can maintain complex spreadsheets, PowerPoint) required).

Project management skills.

Good facilitation skills, ability to collaborate with company personnel at all levels.

Remote work is not permitted in NYC at this time.
