The Manager, Fiber Project Construction is responsible for managing projects pertaining to Outside Plant routes construction and design.  Lead meetings with contractors, and interdepartmental personal as well as affiliate companies.  This position oversees the relationship between the Outside Plant department and various local and State entities and agencies.

A relentless obsession to be the best in our industryA winner mentality determined to outsmart and outdo competitorsA single-minded commitment to unbeatable customer experiencesAn unapologetic passion for innovation and technologyAn uncompromising drive toward continuous improvementA steadfast devotion to doing the right thing the right wayA deep-seated dedication to accountability and ownership Responsibilities Perform various duties as instructed within the network with regards to outside plant construction of all fiber projects. Assist with right of way issues on construction projects. Work with various Local, County and State governments on projects concerning all fiber projects Must be able to read and understand legal documents and interface with various legal departments. Must be able to conduct negotiations for easement and right of way acquisitions for FTTC, FTTH and Fiber route projects. Be able to provide needed assistance and information through telephone conversation, email, or personal contact. Be responsible for correspondence or conversations pertaining to notifications of timelines of projects and schedules. Be responsible for working closely with the engineering department concerning inspectors and changes in Fiber placement projects. Be responsible for daily and weekly report status on Fiber placement projects. Must be able to assess problems, research alternatives and pursue acceptable solutions while remaining within company guidelines. Must be innovative, able to reset priorities and use resources to meet the timeline and needs of the company.  Maintain working bid list of OSP fiber contractors and evaluate new contractors for consideration Determine contractor (internal or external) resource usage based on location, experience, and cost. Verify project completion or status for invoice payment  Qualifications REQUIRED At least 5 years of Outside Plant project experience required. High School diploma or equivalent required. Applicant must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Quick and seamless adaptation to change is an absolute must. Must have strong organizational skills and be very detail oriented. PREFERRED Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: May require long periods of time in vehicle or behind desk.
