As out Manager, Financial Analysis you will be responsible for the overall coordination of the financial reporting and planning activities for the Division.

Your Challenge:
Coordinating month-end close process to ensure we are meeting deadlines as set out by our Corporate office. This includes actuals, forecasts, budgets, tax packages, and R&D schedules
Coordinating Defense specific special projects as required
Working closely with company management to explain and reconcile published financial results with planned results as well as proactively identifying areas of risk or opportunity that warrant management attention
Completing monthly analysis and reporting of key operational metrics. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and reporting packages for the Defense Division in conjunction with the Director of Reporting and the Segment Controller
Participating in financial modelling for potential acquisitions
Coordinating self-assessment audits for Sarbanes-Oxley
Overall responsibility for budgeting/reporting for Defense Shared Service organizations
Developing and ensuring implementation of policies, procedures, and quality standards for maintenance of company financial accounting policies and systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards. Monitoring to ensure compliance
Aiding in the development of annual strategies that will improve the company’s financial performance for the current fiscal year
Participating in senior management team meetings to review financial performance against objectives and targets; revealing obstacles to growth and developing strategies to overcome these obstacles
Encouraging brainstorming and creative approaches to enhance company’s growth, worth and profitability
Must stay attuned to early warnings of financial problems, and be able to provide suggestions on decisive action to resolve or address these problems
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in financial management discipline, or equivalent
Professional designation or MBA
7-10 years of related cost and financial accounting experience
Broad knowledge of and ongoing awareness of accounting principles and government regulations governing business accounting and taxation rules, and similar awareness of international financial statutes
Demonstrated skills in teaching, leading and mentoring
Good problem-solving skills using initiative and innovation to resolve discrepancies
Willingness to travel
