Job Summary:
Lead, guide and direct employees to include setting targets, monitoring performance, providing coaching, counseling and development. Responsible for all hiring, training and terminations; ensuring they are processed according to proper guidelines with appropriate levels of follow-up on timely task completion. Create and implement action plans for daily operations to ensure productivity, quality and customer service standards are met and/or exceeded. Monitor and follow up on opportunities for improvement and ensure corrective actions are taken and are effective. Serves as second escalation point for employee questions and issues; resolves issues and keeps senior management informed Track, monitor and report on budget activity to ensure excessive cost is minimized and budgets are met Develop and monitor programs and procedures for alignment with best practices; follow up and implement continuous improvement opportunities; train, lead and guide others for understanding of new programs, procedures, etc. Network with key stakeholders to ensure a high level of customer service (internally and externally) and relationship building Manage and monitor all terminal and shop procedures are up to date and revisions are clearly communicated timely Regular attendance is required. Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 2 years of leadership experience required 2 years of LTL experience preferred Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation communication skills Excellent quantitative and problem solving skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Strong computer skills required Must be willing to travel as needed Excellent customer service focus Must be able to lift approximately 20 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct Must be able to interact well with others Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check Must be authorized to work in the United StatesPhysical Demands:
