What’s the Opportunity

With RBC products and services are constantly evolving, the Data Design & Integration team ensures that we’re on top of new changes in the fraud data pipeline. Our work enables Fraud DSA teams to quickly integrate new data feeds for various analytics use cases and to enhance RBC’s fraud detection capabilities. You will contribute to the design, planning, and successful delivery of fraud data requirements on business and Fraud-led initiatives, representing the collective interests of Fraud Data Science and Analytics (DSA). You will work closely with Fraud Strategy, Operations Transformation, and Fraud Technology teams to align on Fraud’s data strategy.

What will you do?

Manage project risks, issues, questions, and decisions related to data requirements, ensuring proper steps are taken to mitigate, escalate, and communicate detailed updates to Senior Manager and other Fraud authoritiesWork closely with DSA’s Detection, Data Science, and Research & Analytics stakeholders to ensure Analytics, Machine Learning, and Reporting needs are met by projects’ data requirementsCollaborate with the Strategy, Operations, IT, and other functional teams from across the bank on project brainstorming and prioritization exercises, provide business recommendations and translate priorities into project requirementsContribute to and review project documents, ensuring alignment between Business, Strategic, and Fraud data requirements, and contribute to successful project delivery by managing priorities, timelines, dependencies, critical paths and solution designContribute to project data design and planning, create and execute project test plans for Fraud DSA use cases, and contribute to launch playbooksSupport the project during post-launch warranty, ensuring a seamless transition to end users, identification and resolution of production issues during warranty period, tracking of issues and follow-upUnderstand bank-wide data and how it is utilized in the Fraud Detection ecosystem to combat fraudulent behaviours

           

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

2+ years’ experience working with data, working with SQL, DB2 or TeradataExperience as part of a project team, interacting with end-users, BSAs, and developers to capture data requirementsExperience performing data and gap analysis to identify gaps in requirements and solution designsStrong collaboration skills to establish best practices, identify optimal technical solutions and data structureStrong critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problemsFamiliarity with technology infrastructure (relational databases, how data flows, cloud infrastructure, etc.)Proven communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to effectively make recommendations to technical and non-technical audiencesExcellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize workloadStrong understanding of Agile Project Management and familiarity with Business Process & Data Modelling

Nice-to-have

Experience designing use cases, test cases, and data flow diagramsFamiliarity with DB2 and Hadoop data architectureExperience with Software Development Life CycleUnderstanding of Kafka, ElasticSearch, and big data modelsUnderstanding of fraud analytics (fraud detection, ML models, Tableau reporting)
