About the role
We’re looking for Manager, Fraud Prevention and Investigation, Corporate Audit to join our dynamic team of professionals! This new position is in line with our strategic objective of expanding our fraud prevention and monitoring activities.
As part of Intact’s Corporate Audit Services, you will safeguard our business from emerging fraud schemes and threats. You’ll craft innovative detection techniques using forensic data analytics, decode emerging schemes, brief leadership on the investigations results, propose recommendations to strengthen the control environment, and contribute to continuously improve our fraud monitoring framework through which various key business units and stakeholders contribute.
You will be a trusted advisor who builds strong, open, and constructive relationships with business stakeholders to positively influence them into strengthening their fraud detection and prevention frameworks.
Our hybrid model provides the balance between working from home and enjoying meaningful in-person interactions.
This position can be based in either Montreal or Toronto.
What You’ll Do Here
Identify and communicate fraud trends and detection tactics, pilot forensic data analytics across various lines of business.
Remain up to date on emerging trends amongst the industry and adapt monitoring approach accordingly.
Develop, maintain and optimize financial crime detection models by collaborating with different business units.
Support business units’ fraud investigations and perform investigations when trends or indicator are detected, or when required; communicate the results to business management.
Identify procedural gaps within the business units, collaborate cross-functionally to address these gaps and update procedures as needed.
Assist the internal audit team to build their audit scope with the fraud risk assessment.
Provide management with recommendations following the investigations to strengthen the control environment.
Contribute to continuously improve our overall fraud monitoring framework, approach and investigative reporting standards for key business units.
What You Bring to The Table:
5+ years experience in fraud investigations, and/or forensic data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, SAS) – is required
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business, Law) – is required
A professional accounting or fraud related designation or close to completion (e.g. CPA, CFE, CFA, ACAMS)
Knowledge of principles and practices of forensic accounting, an asset
Experience managing a team of direct reports
Expertise in data visualization
Experience in the financial industry, a large public organization or Big 4 professional services firm is preferred
Ability to maintain high integrity, discretion, and confidentiality
Experience working in a team environment in a fast-paced environment
Highly effective oral and written communication skills
Agile, growth mindset and critical thinking
Bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking and French-speaking colleagues across the country.
