**Purpose**
Contributes to the overall success of the GBM Data Office, Global Banking and Markets ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives, while ensuring that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Supports the GBM Data Office in daily operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring clear communication across all committees, audits, and regulatory engagements.
**What You’ll Do**
+ Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
+ Collaborates with all the pillars of the GBM Data Office to:
+ Understand their ongoing and future activities and timelines
+ Track and report on progress of the overall program and prioritized initiatives
+ Coordinate with the business stakeholders and enterprise program, as needed
+ Supports Audit and Regulatory engagements for the GBM Data Office, including aggregating and tracking timelines and deliverables for all such engagements.
+ Prepares and delivers data governance reports, dashboards, and metrics for working groups and committees, led by or regularly updated by the GBM Data Office.
+ Triages new projects received by the GBM Data Office, ensuring appropriate prioritization and assignment based on skills and availability.
+ Supports ad-hoc requests, special projects and reporting requests by applying technical and program management skills in a prompt manner.
+ Champions the adoption of a data culture.
+ Collaborates with partners to develop and enhance the Bank’s overall data governance and management capabilities, policy, practices, and supporting technology.
+ Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
+ Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

**What You’ll Bring**
+ Demonstrated understanding of organizational design and the ability to shape and drive large-scale, cross-functional programs around people, technology, processes, and tools.
+ 3+ years of data management related experience (e.g. Data Quality, Metadata, Issue Management, Reference Data, Data Provisioning, etc.)
+ 3+ years in Financial Services
+ Strong communications, interpersonal and analytical skills
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
+ Ability to multi-task, communicate well, and manage various work streams relating to Data Management, including externally driven (i.e., regulatory)
+ Proven project management expertise with the capability to lead initiatives from planning through to execution
+ Knowledge of US/Canadian financial regulatory environment is preferred
+ Global Banking and Markets experience preferred
+ Minimum bachelor’s degree in IT or Business is required; graduate degree preferred
