Manager, GBS Finance Operations (General Ledger)

The Finance Operations Manager is responsible for the overall delivery of end-to-end Finance and Accounting Operations in these regions – America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, South Asia, and South East Asia. 

This position requires strong leadership as he/she will manage the Finance Team comprising of 70+ FTEs and is expected to provide strategic directions and guidance as well as drive process standardization and optimization.   The Finance Operations Manager needs to maintain close collaboration and partnership with regional and local Country Finance stakeholders to ensure timely, quality and seamless execution of processes around financial control, compliance, and reporting.  A strong partnership with the Global Process Owners is also required to ensure process standardization. This position reports to Head of GBS Philippines.

Accountable for the E2E Finance and Accounting operations and service delivery in line with global process model, SLAs, and agreed KPI which includes but not limited to:  Supports the monthly closing activities such as journal posting for accruals, reclass, adjustment and P&L analysis   Preparation of the monthly financial reports (P&L) and balance sheet reconciliation in accordance to company and/or country local accounting standard  Provides quality performance variance analysis and feedback to any queries from corporate or regional relating to the performance of the entities/branches  Oversees and responsible for the GSS AP teams (Vendor Admin, Purchase Order, AP invoice processing, Employee Expense Claim) to ensure quality and accurate service delivery within SLA, for timely disbursement and business / operations continuity from service provider.  Leads and reviews work done by RTR team to ensure the GL, fixed asset and bank reconciliation operations and reporting are completed in an accurate and timely manner, with integrity and compliance to APLL policies and IFRS / local accounting standards.   Manages the team for month-end close to ensure deadlines and deliverables are strictly adhered to according to Service Level Agreement (SLA).  Responsible for and ensures the day-to-day revenue billing, accounts receivables, cash application and cashiering activities are performed within SLA in an effective, accurate and efficient manner.   Defines and agrees with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with key stakeholders, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and manage performance.   Participates and leads monthly P&L calls with Country Operations and Country Finance teams to review business results and escalate loss making transactions and issues for resolution   Manages people, resources, and processes to ensure high quality E2E service delivery in line with global process model and agreed on target KPIs   Manages services in line with allocated budget, implements cost saving measures through continuous process improvement and value-add initiatives   Maintains strong engagement and collaboration with relevant stakeholders such as Country Finance Controllers for issue resolution, process alignment, standardization, and optimization  Ensures global initiatives and process changes are successfully documented, implemented, and reflected in the steering measures  Prepares and conducts Quarter Business Review with Regional Finance stakeholders to highlight service performance, solutions to roadblocks, and support requirements   Identifies training and development programs for members to develop a high performing and engaging team  Drives efficiency through continuous improvement & automation.  Other related tasks as assigned by the direct manager At least Bachelor Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting/Finance   CPA, Master’s Degree/MBA is a plus but not a pre-requisite  At least 8-10 years’ relevant working experience in a financial and/or shared service set-up preferably audit or logistics industry   Good working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and tax rules  Self-motivated, forward-thinking, resulted orientated and demonstrate a decisive coaching leadership style  Ability to interpret complex data and processes into meaningful insights and actionable information  Strong advocate of continuous improvement opportunities with ability to drive standardization  Strong communications and interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment with a good command of spoken and written English to influence and motivate  Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), experience in SAP or other ERP accounting software is an advantage.  Automation experience of process management preferred.  Proven ability to contribute to strategic plans, transform them into projects & initiatives, prioritize and implement them.   Strong communication and interpersonal skills
