Work Location: Atlanta, GA

Description Oversees daily operations of the two gift shops within Emory University Hospital and Crawford Long HospitalPlans, administers, and monitors shops' capital equipment, operations, and personnel budgetsProcesses cash deposits, preparing reports as necessary, and manages daily cash flowAssists external auditors preparation for annual audits and tax returnSelects, purchases, ensures receipt and payment of and sets retail prices for store merchandiseDevelops, implements, and insures adherence to customer service proceduresDetermines inventory needs and maintains appropriate inventory levels and product mixManages shops' staff, including hiring, scheduling, problem-resolution, training, and performance assessmentAttractively designs, prepares, and displays merchandise, including fresh flower arrangementsPlans and promotes seasonal and selected merchandise to increase sales opportunitiesParticipates in developing departmental goals and objectivesMeets with other staff members to discuss progress and to develop future courses of actionSupervises staff and manages employee performanceProvides ongoing performance feedback, addresses problems, hires, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skillsSchedules staff and monitors workflowDevelops, implements and insures adherence to customer service proceduresWorks with manager to formulate plan for professional developmentAttends educational in-services as appropriateParticipates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developmentsParticipates on committees and in research or studies as appropriateAssesses needs and develops and implements staff development and training and inservice programs as appropriate

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of college courseworkSix years of retail experience which includes two years of management experienceKnowledge of various personal computer software packages
