Hourly Pay Range:

$35.16 - $54.50 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

A Brief Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Patient Financial Services (PFS) is responsible for designing, implementing, and enforcing policies and procedures and streamlining effective billing processes across multiple departments.  Manages claims processing / billing and collections for Medicaid and/or Medicare portfolios.  Oversees government accounts receivable revenue generated from services provided across the continuum for Endeavor Health hospital billing.  Analyzes reimbursement from all sources, including carrier reimbursement exception reporting and follows up on pending claims analysis and denials management.  Assures maximization of cash collections through monitoring of all open accounts receivable balances.  

What you will do:

Oversees and streamlines the billing and collection processes and evaluates operations from a workflow perspective.Maintains billing accuracy compliant with local, state and federal guidelines by monitoring reports and addressing variances and/or denials and coding discrepancies on a timely basis.  Monitors established goals and key indicators for days in accounts receivable, net and gross collection percentages, and accounts receivable aging by payer and provides recommendations and corrective action as appropriate.Demonstrates knowledge of departmental internal controls and understands senior management’s objectives for the overall performance of the department.  Responsible for providing high level analysis of billing office performance and management direction of the organization’s entire accounts receivables, claims adjudication process, and payer contract familiarity.Acts as a resource for customers and staff in resolving difficult verification/posting/refund/billing and collection issues.Assists in the development of short and long term goals and the plans to accomplish agreed upon goals in consultation with the Director.Assesses and recommends the resources needed to accomplish agreed upon goals.  Participates in the development of the annual business plan and budgets.  Secures approval of and manages departmental budgets in a fiscally responsible fashion.Plans and conducts educational programs for staff and other hospital personnel as necessary.Collaborates with others responsible for organization wide education to ensure that learning needs are identified and addressed to include Revenue Cycle Team, Revenue Integrity, and information pertaining to RAC audits within the Health Information Management Department.Interviews, hires, disciplines, and discharges (when necessary) subordinate personnel.  Regularly evaluates the performance of personnel according to the guidelines of the hospital's performance management system.Reviews weekly productivity and quality metrics for entire government and self-pay staff.  Enforces performance standards according to the department’s policy, and conducts audits as dictated in the department’s quality programAdheres to all Endeavor Health standards, policies, and procedures.

What you will need:

Education: Bachelors Degree in relevant field of study preferred or equivalent experienceExperience: 5+ years of Billing and Reimbursement experience with 2 years in a Supervisory role preferred. Experience with Epic Resolute Hospital Billing, ADT / Grand Central (Inpatient and Outpatient Admission, Discharge, Transfer), Prelude (Inpatient and Outpatient Registration), or Cadence (Scheduling)
