**Manager, Group Operational Excellence, Large Capital Projects/Process Controls** **Princeton, NJ (hybrid)** The Manager, Group Operational Excellence, Large Capital Projects/Process Controls will lead the design and execution of Large Capital Projects in the field of Process Control, Electrical Engineering and Manufacturing Digitalization. This role focuses on implementing and servicing new production lines and greenfield factory developments. The Large Capital Project (LCP) organization for dsm-firmenich North and South America acts as a key support function for all business units. As the company's reference group, LCP is responsible for managing and delivering the portfolio of large capital projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational excellence. Equal access to opportunities is a given, belonging is a shared feeling, authenticity is celebrated. **Key Responsibilities:** + Develop and implement Process Control strategies and engineering documentation throughout various phases of Large Capital Projects (LCPs), ensuring timely delivery in alignment with project milestones + Oversee and guide engineering teams responsible for basic design, detailed engineering, and/or construction of (sub-)projects related to Automation, Electrical, and Instrumentation + Support commissioning, validation, and start-up activities, collaborating with the start-up team and Operations Management to ensure a smooth and efficient plant launch + Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing site instrumentation, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) + Identify opportunities for process optimization in Process Control and Instrumentation, enhancing efficiency and reliability in manufacturing operations + Coordinate and support the design and implementation of manufacturing data platforms, including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) + Strengthen cybersecurity and data management systems, providing expert guidance and support to enhance operational security and efficiency + Ensure compliance with safety standards, including Process Safety, Machine Safety, Explosion Safety, and Occupied Building Risk Assessments (OBRA), while actively participating in safety studies + Lead the successful execution of Process Control projects, ensuring safe, on-time, within-budget, and scope-compliant delivery while maintaining high quality and regulatory standards + Manage contractual partnerships and stakeholder relationships to facilitate seamless project execution and integration across all involved parties + Navigate diverse and complex environments, applying tailored communication and leadership approaches to foster collaboration and trust among stakeholders + Drive innovation by challenging conventional methods, implementing industry best practices to enhance project efficiency and resource utilization + Ensure regulatory compliance with corporate standards and safety protocols, prioritizing the protection of people, assets, and the environment **We Bring:** + A space to grow by encouraging and supporting curiosity and an open mindset + A culture that prioritizes safety and well-being, both physically and mentally + The opportunity to work for a company where sustainability is much more than a claim and is core to our strategy and purpose + A flexible work environment that empowers people to take accountability for their work and own the outcome + A firm belief that working together with our customers is the key to achieving great things + An eagerness to be one team and learn from each other to bring progress to life and create a better future **You Bring:** + Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field + 8-10 years of experience managing Process Control and Automation projects + Extensive expertise in Process Control and digitalization within operational environments + Technical proficiency in key automation and control systems, including: + PLCs, HMI & SCADA: Hands-on experience with platforms such as Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and Siemens + DCS: Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including Emerson, Siemens, and ABB + Data Platforms: Experience with OSI PI for data acquisition and analysis + Strong understanding of networking principles, including protocols, system architecture, hardware selection, wiring, and switch configuration + In-depth knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning + Comprehensive understanding of digitalization in production environments and the interface between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) + Solid knowledge of industry regulations and standards, such as ATEX, ASME, OSHA, GMP, and HAZOP dsm-firmenich is fully dedicated to inclusion because when people feel engaged and empowered, their creativity and innovation drives unprecedented progress.
