General Responsibilities
1. Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Environmental, Health, and Safety management.
2. Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation.
3. Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
4. Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment
5. Prepare applicable EHS reports as necessary.
6. Provide assistance and advice on EHS issues to make recommendations to facility management.
7. Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
8. Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
9. Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS training and certification programs.
10. Observe EHS regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
11. Ability to work with employees and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance.
12. Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.
13. Perform other work-related tasks as required and assigned.
14. Comply with all Company and EHS procedures and policies.
Facility Specific Responsibilities (but not limited to):
1. Walk the operating floor on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and provide support.
2. Conduct daily and monthly EHS Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
3. Write, implement, and manage EHS Programs, Policies and Procedures.
4. Perform facility EHS inspections.
5. Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
6. Have knowledge and enforce compliance of regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, BOSH, OSHA etc.), including company EHS policies and procedures.
7. Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.
8. Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment. ·
9. Oversee Behavior Based / Observation Safety Programs.
10. Help develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
11. Follow Fall Protection program, inspect all fall protection equipment and maintain inspection records.
12. Participate/lead Plant Safety Committee.
13. Assist in administering and maintaining Safety compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, EAP, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Hot Work, Confined Spaces, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.
Process Improvement Standardization
1. Process Ownership (Environmental, Health & Safety) ensuring standadization and process are implemented across all sites
2. Leading on resolving all process audit points by collaborating to each department heads.
3. Lead special projects as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety sciences and a minimum of 5 years experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety position – previous manufacturing industry a plus. Technical writing a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Willing to work different shifts and occasional weekends. SO4 or SO5 Certified by DOLE Pollution Control Officer Project Management Other Skills and Experiences (Min) Education
