Manager, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

The manager, human resources business partner (HRBP) leads the HRBP team in delivering effective human resources strategies that support the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s (VFPA) mission and business priorities. This role ensures the alignment of HR initiatives with organizational objectives by providing consultative support in areas such as workforce planning, labour and employee relations, talent management, career development, learning and development (L&D), employee relations, and organizational design. The manager, HRBP is responsible for guiding and developing the HRBP team to drive tactical HR initiatives that positively impact business outcomes and enhance the employee experience. **What you do:** + In partnership with the Director, Strategic HR Business Partner,manages workforce planning, talent identification, succession planning, andcareer development strategies, and develop and execute correspondingimplementation plans + Lead and provide authoritative human resources consultation tobusiness leaders in identifying people-related challenges and opportunities,offering practical solutions to drive business results + Work closely with the Director, Strategic HR Business Partner, toensure HR initiatives align with business goals and organizational priorities. + Provide guidance and oversight of individual employee or labourrelation issues to the HRBP team, ensuring compliance with collectiveagreement, regulations, applicable legislation, employment law, past practicesand organizational policies + Work closely with the Employee and Labour Relations team to guidecollective agreement interpretation, implement guidelines, and resolve complexemployee and labour relations issues. May represent the Employer in grievanceand dispute resolution meetings including and leading up to arbitration + Supports investigations and handling of disciplinary actions, asneeded, and in close collaboration with the Labour Relations team. + Lead the HRBP team in the implementation and delivery ofcomprehensive talent management programs, ensuring high-potential talent isidentified and retained + Oversee performance management cycles, providing insights on talentreadiness, succession planning, and retention risks + Use HR analytics to assess trends and provide data-drivenrecommendations that improve employee performance and engagement. + Lead HRBP efforts in supporting and implementing businesstransformation and changing management initiatives + Equip the HRBP team with tools and strategies to help businessleaders and employees navigate periods of growth and change + Lead the learning and development team to deliver integrated HRsolutions across the organization + Lead cross-functional projects by providing HR expertise inorganizational design, leadership development, and talent strategies + Model HR best practices and provides coaching to people managers,ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals. + Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HRBP team to execute HRstrategies and tactical initiatives. + Plan, implement and review departmental staffing requirements forareas of responsibility, including the determination of clear positiondescriptions, accountabilities and reporting arrangements to optimize servicedelivery to all stakeholders + Foster continuous improvement within the HRBP team by promoting thebest practices in HR service delivery, coaching, and development. + Manage subordinates, ensuring that team and individuals aremotivated, have defined position descriptions and reporting arrangements, theirperformance goals are clear and actively managed and development needs aredefined and addressed + Participate in the development of departmental plans and beresponsible for the development and implementation of activities and programsdesigned to meet the intention of specific strategic priorities + Participate as a member of various management and inter-departmentalteams in the planning, implementation and management of business initiatives + Promote the VFPA’s health and safety program by demonstrating healthand safety leadership through actions, participation in health and safetyinitiatives and regular safety conversations with employees + Perform other assigned duties as required. **What you bring:** + A universitydegree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Design, or arelated field. A master’s degree is preferred.
