Responsible for sourcing and contracting indirect products and services by: (1) collaborating with internal business partners; (2) finding, selecting and working with suppliers to drive savings, improve product quality, and maintain overall cost-competitiveness; and (3) presenting creative ideas and outsourcing solutions to corporate leaders to standardize and rationalize our indirect procurement function.Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Collects relevant procurement data to assess current and future sourcing needs
Analyzes procurement and financial data for opportunities including supplier rationalization, tenders, aggregation and specification alternatives
Continually researches the marketplace to implement new outsourcing opportunities and suppliers
Investigates and qualifies potential supplier's operational capabilities and financial strength
Develops procurement savings targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Utilizes electronic sourcing tools to minimize internal purchasing transaction costs
Negotiates national agreements to service and satisfy Gate Gourmet requirements
Monitors ongoing effectiveness of the current supply base and manage supplier issues
Establishes and maintains a close working relationship between procurement and the operating units
Resolves performance and business issues
Tracks and reports on savings and ensure that supplier rebates, incentives and credits are secured and managed
Manages day-to-day supplier communications and coordinate face-to-face meetings to facilitate action item follow-up
Provides mentorship to cross-functional team members within Gate Gourmet on issues of supply chain management
Interfaces with suppliers and manufacturers to gather new product information
Ensures the implementation and renewal of proper supply agreements in a timely manner
Attends and participates in meetings that pertain to assigned responsibilities
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Material Management, or Engineering
Work Experience:
Three to five years of experience in procurement and/or contract purchasing, including Travel, Fleet, Facilities, IT, Telecom, and the outsourcing of corporate administrative functions
Experience with SAP preferred
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)
Strong negotiation and contract skills
Ability to think strategically and tactically execute
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to take our existing data and manipulate it (in Excel) to draw useful insights from it
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and e-sourcing tools
Familiarity with ERP systems (especially SAP)
Language / Communication Skills:
Strong written and oral communications
