Manager, Industrial Technical Services - Southern US

For this role, we are looking for a true people leader and business partner! The right candidate will have previous experience leading, coaching, and developing a group of professionals in a remote work environment. They will have a history of building strong relationships with internal and external customers and can tap into WM’s Post-Collection toolkit when needed. In addition, qualified candidates will have knowledge of WM’s Hazardous and Special Waste Policies and Procedures.

 

NOTE: This is a regional position and we would prefer that candidates be based in the states supported by the Southern TSC (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina). Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.


I. Job Summary
The Technical Service Manager is focused on delivering exceptional Customer Experience and supporting WM’s revenue growth strategy through the leadership of the Technical Service Center. 

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
 

Lead the Technical Service team to increase satisfaction among WM’s customers. Cultivate sales to achieve targeted revenue goals.  Provide direction and leadership to the Technical Service Management Team including training, development and performance management.  Align processes and system utilization to drive cohesive internal and external customer experience.  Build strong partnerships with Area Industrial Sales teams.  Cultivate strong relationships with Waste Approvals Team. Interface between the Corporate and Area teams to provide updates regarding the Technical Service Center.  Maintain proficiency in the use of the WM systems to prepare and analyze activity, revenue, and price management reports. 

 

III. Supervisory Responsibilities
 

Direct and indirect supervision of 25-30 full-time employees, including: Technical service managers and representatives, industrial insides sales representatives, and support staff.

 

IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. Must live and work in the US.  

A. Education and Experience
 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) or in lieu of, HS Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years experience. Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the Environmental Services industry (in addition to education requirement).

 

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
 

None required.

The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $96,500 - $136,160. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for commission.
