The opportunity

Reporting to the Director, International Taxation, the selected candidate will play a key role in supporting the maintenance of the Company’s international tax structure, provide assistance on cross-border tax planning initiatives and reporting on global legislative developments.

The role

Provide support in the maintenance and ongoing optimization of Gildan’s international tax structureAnalyze and advise on the tax implications of a wide range of internal business initiatives, including operational changes and internal restructuringsSupport cross-border tax planning initiatives related to corporate reorganizations, new market entry, and mergers & acquisitionsResearch international tax issues and determine the appropriate tax treatment for a wide variety of transactionsMonitor and analyze global legislative developments and assess their potential impact on GildanPrepare and/or review quarterly and year-end Pillar Two tax calculations and related complianceMaintain tax attributes of foreign affiliatesAssist in managing tax audits and inquiries related to international tax matters

The requirements

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designationMaster’s degree in taxation or completion of CPA’s in-depth international tax course7 to 10 years of corporate tax experience, with 2 to 4 years focused on international taxTransfer pricing knowledge is considered an assetStrong research and analytical skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlinesDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills and multitasking abilityAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Excellent English and French spoken and written skillsThis position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
