Manager, IT Asset Management - ( 2500002H ) **Description** **SALARY** $110,000 - $120,000 **POSITION SUMMARY** The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and coordination of the organization’s IT assets, including hardware, software, and related services. This role ensures the effective deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of IT assets across the organization. The IT Asset Manager will oversee asset tracking, compliance, procurement, and optimization, working closely with various departments to maintain the integrity and value of the IT asset portfolio. **Qualifications** **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES** + Develops and executes strategies for managing the organization's IT asset lifecycle, including acquisition, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and retirement. Implements processes to ensure accurate asset records are maintained, leveraging asset management tools. + Manages IT asset procurement, working closely with vendors and the purchasing department to negotiate contracts, purchase orders, and ensure that IT assets meet quality and cost-efficiency requirements. Responsible for ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies for hardware/software procurement. + Monitors the IT asset budget, analyzes trends, and provides reports to senior management. Identifies opportunities for cost savings through asset optimization and efficient lifecycle management. + Ensures compliance with licensing agreements, regulatory standards, and internal policies regarding IT assets. Coordinates internal and external audits to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. + Develops and delivers regular reports on IT asset inventory, usage, and status. Provides insights into trends and makes recommendations to optimize the use of IT assets. + Trains staff on asset management procedures, software tools, and best practices. Ensures that relevant teams are informed of asset updates and lifecycle changes. + Reviews asset management processes regularly, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to streamline operations, enhance asset visibility, and improve performance. + Hires, trains, develops, monitors, and evaluates staff. Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval. + Performs related duties as assigned. **MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES** Reporting to this position are the following jobs: Job Title **CHALLENGES** + Managing the diverse and rapidly evolving portfolio of IT assets, including hardware, software, and services. + Balancing cost-efficiency with performance needs while staying within budget constraints. + Maintaining asset compliance and accurate inventory tracking in a large and dynamic environment. + Keeping up with new technologies and trends to ensure optimal utilization of assets. + Ensuring cross-departmental cooperation to facilitate smooth asset management operations. **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS** + Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, with 5 years of experience in IT asset management, IT procurement, or IT operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience. + Previous experience with asset management software and systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Microsoft SCCM). + Previous experience in managing IT asset budgets, vendor contracts, and compliance initiatives. + Previous experience in a corporate or large-scale organizational environment preferred. **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** + Requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery. + Occasional lifting of IT equipment (up to 25 lbs.) may be required. + Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES** + Strong understanding of IT asset management processes and tools. + Excellent organizational and time management skills. + Ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights. + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams. + Knowledge of IT hardware, software, and industry best practices. + Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. **WORKING CONDITIONS** + General office environment. + Occasional travel to various organizational locations or vendor sites. + Subject to prevailing weather when conducting field inspections and investigations. + Must be available to respond to calls or email inquiries outside of regular work hours. + Periodic field visits to inspect hardware installations or assess asset conditions. **EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, AND MATERIALS UTILIZED** + Personal computers, smartphones, tablets, IT asset management software (e.g., ServiceNow, SCCM), printers, and other office equipment. + Microsoft Office Suite and other productivity software. **Additional Details:** Employees and/or union members will be given priority consideration in the hiring process, per the applicable labor contracts.
