**Job Summary**
Battelle is seeking an **IT Audit Manager, Internal Audi** t to lead a comprehensive information technology (IT) and information security (IS) internal audit program for Battelle. Plan, organize, direct, and oversee IT audit activity by providing independent and objective analyses, appraisals, and recommendations on all aspects of IT and IS operations; compliance with policies and regulations; safeguarding of assets; and identification of any irregularities, fraud, and other acts that pose significant risks to Battelle.
This position will report to Battelle’s Chief Audit Executive and will be responsible for partnering with internal business clients, management, and members of the Internal Audit team to effectively provide exemplary, pro-active, and timely audit services. To succeed in this fast-paced environment requires strong leadership skills, demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, commitment to innovation and continuous process improvement, and ownership of results.
There is a strong preference for this position to be based at Battelle’s world headquarters in Columbus, Ohio; however, a remote work arrangement will be considered for the right candidate.
**Responsibilities**
+ Plans and designs IT, IS, operational, and compliance related internal audits and assessments with a focus on identifying potential control gaps and process weaknesses and developing recommended action plans based on risk assessments and organizational priorities.
+ Reviews the work of IT audit staff and oversees status presentations and report drafting. Reports the results of audits and recommends corrective actions to management, as needed.
+ Executes or oversees reviews of internal policies and procedures to evaluate compliance with state and federal laws and government regulations (e.g., DFARS 252.204-7012, NIST 800-171, NIST 800- 53, etc.).
+ Plans and manages the activities of external and internal auditors to ensure the efficient use of audit resources.
+ Performs or manages special reviews and projects as requested by management and/or the Audit Committee of the Battelle Board of Trustees, including privileged and confidential legal reviews.
+ Works with other Internal Audit management in the performance of the annual IT Risk Assessment and development of the annual IT Audit Plan.
+ Conducts or supports Internal Audit in the conduct of investigations as a Subject Matter Expert.
+ Builds relationships with key stakeholders across various functions to remain knowledgeable of developments across the organization and ensures recommendations and action items resulting from reviews are implemented.
+ Supports the development and accomplishment of Internal Audit’s strategic goals and objectives.
+ Stays current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting IT audit practices.
+ Provides leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to audit staff and team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the IT Audit function.
+ Brings ideas and solutions to the table, not just problems, when working with internal clients and external auditors.
+ Operates at the highest levels of integrity and ethical behavior; exercises impeccable judgment and discretion.

**Key Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Accounting or Finance;10 years of audit experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a related field.
+ Department of Defense Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
+ Working knowledge of professional security frameworks and standards (COSO, COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001, PCI- DSS, CIS Critical Security Controls, DFARS, etc.).
+ Understanding of current cyber security trends with a commitment to continuous learning to stay current regarding applicable strategies, regulatory and legal requirements, and available technologies.
+ Hands on administration experience with a variety of systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX, Mainframe, Active Directory, RACF, etc.)
+ Experience developing strategies and methodologies for utilizing data analytics in an audit environment.
+ Understanding of auditing standards (IPPF, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, etc.)
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Two years prior management experience.
+ Prior experience with risk advisory and internal controls.
+ Strong Excel, Word, Teams, Access, and/or Visio skills.
+ Professional certification (CISA, CISSP, CIA, etc.) or progress toward certification.
+ Experience developing strategies and methodologies for utilizing data analytics in an audit environment.
