POSITION SUMMARY:
In accordance with the policies, procedures and standards of the Company, the Manager, Labor Relations position has the primary focus in developing and maintaining positive and productive relationships between the management and its unionized departments. He / She will lead in monitoring and enforcing labor laws and regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Human Resources Labor Relations Functions:
1.1. Acts as the resource person to deal with labor union related concerns.
1.2. Represent Management in negotiating labor contracts, collective bargaining agreements and resolving disputes between management and labor.
1.3. Review HR processes and procedures related to labor relations.
1.4. Plan and coordinate employee grievance procedures including to investigate and resolve labor disputes.
1.5. Develop and implement mediation and arbitration programs.
2. Human Resources Employee Relations and Compliance Functions:
2.1. Contributes to the planning, development and coordination of human resources strategies and policies in partnership with the other teams.
2.2. Monitors and assists with the interpretation and enforcement of Human Resources discipline in accordance with the Code of Conduct applicable to assigned clients.
2.3. Evaluate and implement programs to improve employee relations.
2.4. Maintaining knowledge of court rules, legislation, case law and available services applicable to the role and correctly interpreting relevant rules and legislation.
3. Other Human Resources Functions:
3.1. Prepares timely reports, letters and proposals as and when required.
3.2. Contributes to the planning, development and co-ordination of human resources strategies and policies in partnership with Human Resources team.
3.3. Performs any other assigned jobs/responsibilities that may be assigned by Management and/or Immediate Superior from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
I.Experience
At least 10 years of work experience in a related capacity for the same or similar industry in a medium to large scale operations
II.Education Degree holder in a related-discipline, study and/or graduate of law is an advantage III.Skills / Competencies
1. Good presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across the Company
2. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal including exceptional report writing skills.
3. Experience in contract negotiations and collective bargaining agreement.
4. In-depth knowledge of labor relations principle and understanding of labor laws and regulations.
5. Ability to interpret legislation, create policies and develop effective business procedures and processes.
6. Strong analytical, investigative and data mining skills.
