Purpose:
The Manager, Laboratory will oversee diagnostic methods and testing personnel within assigned laboratories/departments, at any UPMC Hospital or offsite location. Ensures compliance with all hospital policies, procedures and guidelines according to applicable authority levels, laws and regulations. Directs or supplements the activities of the Supervisor, Laboratory as needed. Works collaboratively with the Laboratory Director and UPMC Laboratory Service Center leaders to ensure the achievement of system-wide goals that are consistent with UPMC’s strategic plan. Assures compliance with the UPMC mission and values for providing service excellence.
