In this role, there is the opportunity to - + Oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant diagnostic testing. + Ensure adherence to all applicable hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements. + Develop and implement short- and long-term goals aligned with system-wide strategic initiatives. + Supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation. + Maintain documentation and compliance for quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing programs. + Monitor key performance metrics and recommend improvements in testing, service, and workflow efficiency. + Collaborate with Laboratory Director and other leaders to optimize cross-site operations and resources. + Facilitate continuing education and professional development for laboratory personnel. + Manage departmental budgets, capital equipment, and operational spending within defined limits. + Investigate and resolve laboratory-related complaints, safety issues, and non-compliance incidents. + Implement new testing methodologies and technologies in collaboration with clinical stakeholders. + Maintain a safe laboratory environment following hospital and regulatory safety protocols. + Participate in policy development and ensure staff compliance with current procedures and guidelines. + Represent the laboratory on hospital or community committees to support institutional goals. Required + Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent discipline + Six years of experience in laboratory operations required, including two or more years in a supervisory or leadership capacity preferred + Analytical and organizational ability necessary to provide effective operational, administrative, financial and personnel management in assigned areas + Interpersonal abilities necessary to deal effectively with all levels of Hospital staff and physicians and to direct assigned personnel + Superior verbal and written communication skills + Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications Preferred + Advanced degree in Management / Business Administration + Experience in a clinical laboratory environment **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** New York license preferred for NY locations.
