Manager, Logistics (NZ)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

The Manager, Logistics assumes the responsibility for creating on time availability for our customers by coordinating / matching supply and demand within the supply chain. Enables the Markets in meeting their financial and operational objectives while supporting Market commercial strategies, optimizing demand and supply for Pacific and continuously improving operational performance through driving end-to-end supply chain integration with areas and global functions. Collaborate with PAC SCM team to implement SCM blueprint in the market.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Overall responsibility for availability (supply) and fulfillment (shipment ex warehouse according to sales order dates) in day-to-day business for integrated Markets.

Matching as well as ensuring of OTIF execution of customer deliveries against commercial requirements and commercial prioritization for deliveries and supporting OTIF execution and roll out of tools and principles. Identify critical supply chain constraints and determine actions to overcome problems with respect to supply of critical products (products with confirmed customer date, strategic products, products for Marketing campaigns / launches) Day-to-day management of outbound planning and outbound prioritization by deciding shipment mode (transportation parameters incl. Air-Freight requests) in close collaboration with the Markets whilst considering On Time deliveries vs. costs.

• Oversee administration of all In bound, outbound freight and 3PL invoices.

• Decide, in collaboration with Markets, Retail and Clearance Management, on order book deliveries to steer month end target achievement by controlling inventory in a shared inventory pool for all stakeholders.

• Manage the warehouse capacity forecast in partnership with 3PL and leading meetings with the Markets and the warehouse management team in order to determine priorities to optimize staffing requirements of warehouse according to sales order backlog, that ensure Markets meet their month-end targets and the warehouse its target costs.

• Lead or support Market projects with the goal to represent the order book management requirements and leading projects to increase OTIF and inventory efficiency across adidas.

Streamlining communication process with different stakeholders including SCM, 3PL, Transport, Sales, CS, PLT, APAC and Global.

• Design, structure and implement tactical solution for the Pacific business model to enable enhanced availability by reduced inventory and costs.

• Drive Market, Pacific and/or APAC projects including, but not limited to, Inventory initiatives, Continuous improvement and Process improvement.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

 

• Deep understanding and management experience in operational supply chain process environment, understanding business requirements and capabilities needed

• Good SAP expertise [added advantage]

• High degree of self-motivation and self-management

• Strong analytical skills

• Operations as well as commercial mindset

• Experience in (cross functional / regional or global) project management

• Demonstrating initiative and acting result oriented

• Ability to accept and meet critical deadlines with good planning and organization skills

• Good interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively and efficiently on different layers of the organization

• Competent user in Microsoft Office applications

• Fluent in English (written and oral), in order to present information

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

· University degree (ideally industrial engineering) or equivalent education required

· Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 in the consumer goods industry (with a focus on management of 3rd party warehousing and distribution contracts, supply chain management, logistics etc.)

· Working experience in international and / or cross-functional teams

· Operational and project management skills
