How you’ll shape the future of the Supply Chain Team:
+ Manage off-site warehouse operations. Management oversight will include operational space utilization and requirements, compliance with established RYAM policy and procedures, overall transactional efficiency and effectiveness, and period reviews to align space requirements with the RYAM Master Global Inventory Strategy. Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at all warehouse locations.
+ Support logistics procurement personnel with the information necessary to facilitate effective and productive negotiation with transportation and warehousing providers that result in the lowest possible cost for those services. This includes taking a larger role in the procurement of Canadian trucking services, e.g. enhanced collaboration and strategy input.
+ Determine the optimal delivery method for shipping and receiving freight between RYAM’s Canadian plants (Temiscaming, QC), customers, suppliers, and warehouses.
+ Monitor and evaluate on a continuous basis the performance of transportation suppliers with regards to on-time delivery, quality of delivery, etc.
+ Continuously monitor freight expenses for new approaches to reduce costs.
+ Develop and maintain operational relationships with ocean, rail, and trucking logistics providers to allow for continuous improvement in logistics support execution and facilitate problem resolution.
+ Ensure that material quality is preserved throughout the handling processes by both transport providers and storage providers.
+ Oversight of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) for Canadian operations.
+ Manage Border crossing activities CBSA, Livingston and required reporting. (CERS, CARM).
+ Manage C-TPAT compliance (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism).
+ Manage USMCA Certificates of Origin management for U.S. suppliers.
+ Manage key Freight Forwarder Relationships for Canadian operations (e.g. GMI).
+ Additional duties as assigned.
You’ll be someone who can bring:
+ Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
+ 10 years’ experience in the logistics/ transportation industry. Domestic and international transportation experience.
+ Experience with rail, truck, and ocean carriers.
+ Prior experience with duty and trade policies.
+ Pulp and Paper experience preferred.
+ Prior experience in using computer software in the transportation industry (Carrier Point). Experience with 3PL’s would be a plus.
+ Strong analytical ability.
+ Strong negotiating and communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal capability.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Excellent knowledge of Quebec/Ontario geography and Canadian transportation regulations and cross-border requirements.
