Manager, Maintenance Training Specialist

Please contact_ _Accommodations@aa.com_ _should you wish to request an accommodation._ **Maintenance Training Specialist Technical Functions** + Design technical and non-technical training courses and materials (both paper manuals and electronic presentations) + Develop and/or revise technical and non-technical training content + Deliver/facilitate technical and non-technical training courses + Develop and administer oral, written, and practical examinations/evaluations + Train the trainer (TTT), for example other specialists or designees + Maintain and complete training-related forms (e.g., rosters, attendance forms, student evaluations, proficiency records) + Provide technical assistance to other groups, in an advisory capacity, regarding aircraft maintenance and operational problems, new procedures, and procedural changes + Assist vendors in the design and development of technical training courses or curriculum **Maintenance Training Specialist General Functions** + Perform all functions in accordance with safety procedures and policies + Coordinate with other employees and stakeholders in order to accomplish work tasks + Report to position on time, as scheduled, and at assigned station or location, including varying shifts, weekends, and holidays + Complete job-relevant trainings + Adhere to government (e.g., DOT, FAA, TSA) regulations + Adhere to company policies, procedures, and performance standards + Follow instructions from supervisor + Perform duties that require general safety awareness (e.g., when working in an area with moving vehicles) + Use relevant electronic systems to complete work **All you'll need for success** **Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or other business-related fields or equivalent work experience + 5 years of relevant work experience **Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience** + Previous project management experience + Familiar with Articulate and Adobe Creative Cloud suite of training development products + Previous LMS administration experience + Familiarity with available training technologies and concepts + Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance training programs and related safety training programs and the regulation that govern them + Previous experience interfacing with regulatory agencies such as FAA, DOT & OSHA + Previous experience working directly with represented employees **Skills, Licenses & Certifications** + Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop direct reports + Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Strong aptitude for working collaboratively with other departments + Must be able to work with deadlines, multiple projects, attend and conduct meetings and give presentations + Proven ability to effectively lead diverse team members and foster an equitable and inclusive work environment + Ability to effectively manage and successfully deliver multiple, concurrent projects + Previous experience in a training development or learning management role + Knowledge of curriculum design and multi-platform delivery methods + Ability to travel as appropriate **What you'll get** Feel free to take advantage of all that American Airlines has to offer: + Travel Perks: Ready to explore the world?
