Introduction
We are seeking a Manufacturability & Supplier Development Manager to join our global procurement organization in the Minerals Business Area (BA). In this role, you will develop product design for manufacturing (DFM) in co-operation with product managers, support sourcing organization to identify needed suppliers and Metso’s suppliers to develop manufacturing capabilities to achieve required product quality targets. Your role plays a crucial part in developing supply chains for selected products in the Smelting Business Line (BL), which will positively impact our delivery capabilities, ensuring stable business growth. In this position, you will report to Director, Smelting Supply, located in Finland.
This position is located preferably in Espoo, Finland. We are also willing to discuss other locations and happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. However, the job involves travelling internationally sometimes for long periods.
What you do
Develop product design for manufacturing (DFM) in co-operation with product managers. Develop product-related documentation, such as technical specifications and Inspection Data Sheet (IDS) in co-operation with product managers. Support sourcing organization to identify new suppliers by determining and evaluating required key manufacturing capabilities for selected products. Support sourcing organization in technical evaluation of bid comparisons. Support Metso’s suppliers to understand the required product quality targets, develop and implement quality-related documentation and manufacturing capabilities. Follow up the prototype manufacturing and report on progress and corrective actions
