PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As the Manager of Material Controls, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the distribution of materials critical to production. Your role is key to ensuring that the materials are accurately analyzed, optimally controlled, and requisitioned in line with project schedules. By leveraging your technical expertise and strong problem-solving abilities, you will help us to meet the project objectives in a timely and efficient manner, contributing to Worley’s overarching ambition of delivering sustainable change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and manage the timely requisitioning, distribution, and control of materials and equipment, ensuring alignment with the project schedule and client requirements. Collaborate with project teams to define, quantify, and procure the necessary materials and equipment for all project phases. Analyze materials data to determine the most efficient control levels, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimizing waste. Work in partnership with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve material-related issues, applying advanced knowledge of systems, processes, and tools. Lead the preparation and presentation of reports and proposals to senior management and project stakeholders, effectively communicating complex information in a persuasive and clear manner. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices related to material controls are followed and adhered to, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the team. Provide technical guidance to team members and help implement new systems, processes, or tools to enhance material management operations.#LI-JS4
*QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET
University degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience in material controls, procurement, or a technical discipline relevant to the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors. Typically, over ten years of relevant experience in materials management, including leadership, project management, or technical roles. Advanced problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to make independent decisions in complex situations. Strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare, present, and influence senior stakeholders across various functions. Extensive experience in applying systems, processes, and tools in material controls management, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements. Experience in managing smaller projects or parts of larger projects, with a focus on achieving business objectives and project milestones. A collaborative and proactive mindset, able to work independently and guide others to ensure a high standard of operational efficiency.#LI-JS4
